STRATEGO: The end is only the beginning

Finished in November 2016, STRATEGO has been one of the most important projects for the European heating and cooling sector in general, and our organisation in particular. This EU-funded project provided the scientific evidence required to support the EU Heating and Cooling Strategy, as well as national and local low-carbon heating and cooling plans in five EU countries. Its work will be amplified by other promising EU projects, such as Heat Roadmap Europe 4. Find out how the Pan-European Thermal Atlas, STRATEGO lessons and conclusions can empower national and local authorities, inform investors and support urban planners in initiating sustainable heating and cooling projects.

Every new EU project – a piece of the puzzle

Throughout 2016, DHC+ has enlarged its portfolio with four new Horizon 2020 projects: PLANHEAT, STORM, SDHp2m and Heat Roadmap Europe 4. While acronyms do not say a lot about them, each project corresponds to a key trend that will drive DHC transformation in the future. Building up new partnerships

Our top priority is to make the DHC+ Technology Platform a meeting place for innovators from the research side and industry. We appreciate different interests of our members and aim at offering diverse services helping them find new business partners and research fellows. In 2016, along with organising the second edition of the DHC+ Brokerage Event, we launched a new consortium building tool –  DHC+ Portal. We kept supporting our members in their successful involvement in EU-funded projects, as well as shaping the framework of research & innovation policy in the energy field.

New talents detected

Did you know that our education & training initiatives benefit both young generation and DHC+ members? Students get access to in-depth knowledge, network of district energy experts, new job and education opportunities. At the same time, our research and industry members can identify new talents and research trends that will determine the future of our sector. In 2016, DHC+ flagship education & training programmes – Summer School and Student Awards – reached their 4th edition. In the near future, we plan to broaden our target group to energy professionals, local authorities and urban planners. Stay tuned and get involved!
